In July 2024, the Western Australian Designated Area Migration Agreement (WA DAMA) was established to address the ongoing demand from employers for skilled workers in critical areas of Western Australia. This marks the fifth DAMA for WA, joining the existing agreements in Goldfields, Kimberley, Pilbara, and South West. Employers can now apply for endorsement to access the WA DAMA.
For occupations within the active DAMA regions, employers should apply to the respective Designated Area Representative (DAR) for endorsement. Each regional DAMA has a specific list of eligible occupations tailored to meet local workforce needs. If an occupation is not available through a local DAMA but is listed under the WA DAMA, businesses can apply directly to Migration Services for endorsement, ensuring access to a broader range of occupations to support their workforce requirements.
