Effective from July 1, 2023, the Western Australian (WA) Government has introduced modifications to the eligibility criteria for the WA State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP). These adjustments, which build upon the existing relaxed criteria, are designed to enhance opportunities for skilled migrants to engage with employment prospects in WA. The key changes encompass:
- Establishing an equal invitation ranking system for candidates from both Interstate and Overseas.
- Implementing prioritized invitations for candidates possessing occupations of critical significance within WA's industry sectors, as per the WA State nomination invitation ranking system.
- Reducing employment prerequisites for candidates who have received invitations based on WA's building and construction industry sector occupations (aligned with the WA State nomination Occupation lists).
Prospective applicants can anticipate the commencement of invitation rounds for the 2023-24 program year in August 2023.
