On July 15, VETASSESS will resume accepting new applications for two trade occupations: Electrician (General) and Metal Machinist (First Class). This reopening follows a pause in new applications since September 2023 to focus on processing existing cases. The decision to reopen these applications was made after discussions with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). This change applies to both Pathway 1 and Pathway 2 applications under the OSAP and TSS programs. As these are licensed occupations in Australia, applicants will need to undergo a practical assessment as well as a technical interview.
